Wish List

You can also help wildlife rehabilitators by donating certain foods, supplies, equipment and materials. Rehabilitators go through a lot of consumable food and supplies throughout the year, and it provides them a big help to have some of this ground covered for them, so they can focus on treating their animal patients. Take a look at our wishlist to see if there’s something here you have and would like to give in support of wildlife.

While rehabilitators feed fresh foods to the animals in their care, ACRN does not accept and distribute perishables, as we cannot guarantee that we can get the food to rehabbers before it goes bad. We also can not take non-perishable foods that have been opened, are long-expired, or are in dented cans.

All items we receive will be distributed to our rehabilitation members based on need.

Thinking about Joining the Network?

Volunteer with Us!

Are you passionate about wildlife rehabiltation, preserving our natural ecosystems and the environment? Are you someone who wants to help those who work to give animals a second chance; to mitigate the damaging byproducts of human civilization that displaces and injures wildlife? Maybe you are someone whose skills and preferences are better served helping wildlife indirectly by supporting those who work with wildlife directly. Or maybe you are someone who someday wants to work directly with wildlife, but is also interested in the larger picture and looking to take on the field from a more holistic approach.

We invite you to consider joining our team of volunteers if the above applies and you are both willing and capable of being professional in your conduct with others, reliable with your commitments, and competent in your work ethic. For more information about available volunteer positions, as well as to apply, visit our volunteer page by clicking the button below.

Become a Partner!

If you are a licensed wildlife rehabilitator who may be interested in becoming a member of ACRN, we invite you to check out our partnership page for information about benefits, requirements and the application process. Click on the button below for more.

Are you a conservationist, environmental attorney, veterinarian, or represent a wildlife advocacy group and would like to offer your services or expertise to assist ACRN and its partners? Whether it be volunteering counsel, veterinary services, education or encouraging quality standards, we ask that you to visit our Contact page and tell us about yourself and the relationship you would like to build with ACRN. Please select “Partnership Inquiry” as your reason for contacting us.

If you are an individual with experience working in any of these or related fields, and would would like to work with ACRN in a more involved capacity, you may also consider visiting our volunteer page and applying as an “Expert Advocate.”

Support acrn with a donation

We are an all volunteer organization with little overhead, meaning nearly all donations we receive will go towards supporting wildlife rehabilitators and our advocacy efforts. The funding we use to support rehabilitators includes covering veterinarian expenses, food, supplies, enclosures, building materials and in special circumstances, direct financial support.

ACRN’s goal is to eventually be in a position to offer special funding programs, such as for rehabilitation startups, assistance for existing centers that are struggling, grants for field and post-release studies, education programs, as well as land acquisition for sanctuaries and preserves, and more. As we grow, unspent funds will be saved for programs like these. In the meantime, ACRNs donations and fundraising is focused on establishing our foothold, support of our initial affiliates, and launching our debut advocacy campaign, which is centered on reforming ODFW regulation in Oregon.

If you believe in ACRNs mission and want to support us and our membership, we would greatly appreciate a donation. We understand that times are exceedingly difficult in this post-pandemic era. Whatever you can afford, big or small, is valued and does make a difference. If you can’t afford a donation, that’s okay! There are other ways you can take part in what we do and show your support that won’t cost you a penny.

Tell Your Story

Do you have a story to share, or something important to say about the welfare of wildlife, conservation or rehabilitation? Whether it be a heartwarming, tragic, informational or cautionary tale, ACRN would love to hear from you. You can have your story published on our blog page, or notify ACRN about an important issue that requires our attention. In either case we invite you to contact us and share what you know or have experienced. Simply fill out the form on our Contact page and select “Wildlife Story Submission” as your reason for contacting us.

ACRN’s priority is focused in the Pacific Northwest, however we do consider relevant submissions that do not specifically pertain to our region. We ask that you include where you are from, as well as your relationship to the subject of wildlife; are you a rehabber, ranger, zoologist, enthusiast or concerned citizen? This question is not a prerequisite for consideration, it only helps us to understand the context of your story. Give a brief summary of your story and any relevant details of note. If interested, we will respond with a request for the story in its entirety.

Please note that stories we publish are unedited under the author’s name, unless the author asks to remain anonymous. All submissions are considered on the basis of merit: content, relevancy, factual consistency, and quality. For minor issues, we may reach out asking for clarity or revision. Submissions well beneath these standards however will not be considered nor responded to. If you do not receive a response from us, please understand that it is not necessarily for this reason. While we try our best to read every submission, we are an entirely volunteer-staffed organization with limited resources, and are not always capable of responding to each submission we receive.
